It Started with One Perfect Wing

Back in 2018, Marcus DeWilde was tired of settling for mediocre wings at every restaurant he visited. After years working in professional kitchens across Tampa Bay, he had a vision: a place where wings weren't a side thought — they were the main event.

Starting from a modest kitchen on Stelling Drive in Riverview, Wing Snob quickly built a loyal following of wing lovers who couldn't get enough of the bold flavors, crispy textures, and obsessive attention to quality. Word spread fast. Lines formed early.

Today, Wing Snob serves thousands of guests every month — from families craving a casual meal, to die-hard wing enthusiasts taking on our legendary challenges. Every wing is still made with the same care and passion that started it all.

2018

The First Flame

Marcus DeWilde opens Wing Snob in a small space on Stelling Drive with just 6 tables, 8 sauces, and a single deep fryer. The community lines up around the block on opening day.

2019

Sauce Lab Born

Jordan Reese joins the team and the legendary Sauce Lab is established. Wing Snob expands its menu to 15 signatures and launches the first seasonal "Heat of the Month" special.

2020

Community Pivots & Grows

During challenging times, Wing Snob launches contactless pickup and free meals for local first responders. The community's support drives online orders through the roof.

2021

First Award Win

Wing Snob is named Riverview's Best Wing Spot by Tampa Bay Foodie Magazine. Capacity is doubled with a full dining room renovation and outdoor patio addition.

2023

Wing Challenge Goes Viral

The "Snob Challenge" — 50 blazing hot wings in 15 minutes — goes viral on social media. Over 10,000 challengers attempt it in the first year. Only 312 conquer it.

2024

Catering & Online Expansion

Wing Snob launches full-service catering for events up to 500 guests and a revamped online ordering platform. The 50,000th happy guest milestone is celebrated with a community feast.
